Looking for live music in the East Village with authentic community spirit?

Idaho Bar NYC is proud to host an open old-time jam session every 1st and 3rd Monday of the month. This unique gathering brings together musicians, dancers, and music lovers for an evening filled with tradition, rhythm, and camaraderie.

Our jam “regulars” are seasoned musicians and dancers who guide the night with expertise and generosity, ensuring newcomers feel right at home. Whether you’re a lifelong player or picking up an instrument for the first time, you’ll find a welcoming space to learn, share, and celebrate the joy of music.

The Idaho Old-Time Jam is hosted by Mark Piro, a respected fiddler, guitarist, and mandolinist who has been leading jams in Manhattan for over twenty years. Mark has organized and played at legendary New York City venues, including The Baggot Inn, Slainte, Grisly Pear, Paddy Reilly's, the Green Room, and Ottomanelli's. His dedication to preserving and sharing the tradition of old-time music makes every session a memorable experience.

If you’d like to stay in the loop, newcomers are encouraged to get on Mark’s invite list by emailing him at thepirosmusic@gmail.com.

Come for the music, stay for the community

Join us at Idaho Bar NYC on 1st Avenue & 13th Street every 1st and 3rd Monday for a night of live old-time jams, great drinks, and unforgettable vibes.
